| History of the School |
Beechwood School was founded in 1987 in Streatham by its Principal Mrs. M. Marshall. Within eighteen months the original group of ten children, mostly from relatives and friends, had increased to forty and the School moved to wholly occupy a house in the Streatham Common area. Another eighteen months passed and the School doubled in size again, filling the premises available. A turning point was reached in the development of the School and in April 1991 the decision was made to firmly establish the future of the School by seeking larger premises. In September 1991, the School moved to its former location in Aristotle Road, Clapham. It stayed there for 5 years before moving to its present location at 55 Leigham Court Road, Streatham. |
